Watercolor Food Illustrations

These illustrations were created for a client who used a special cost-effective and efficient digital print process with a limited saturation of ink for their printed materials. The illustrations also needed to be generic/timeless enough to be reused in the client's future holiday-themed materials.

To keep the ink saturation required to reproduce the artwork to a minimum, each illustration was created with a light touch using watercolor paints and outlined in black for visibility. A brief message was added with hand-drawn calligraphy to accompany the theme before scanning at high resolution.

The end product satisfied both the printing requirements and the client's needs by using a style, medium, and amount of detail that lent itself well to food illustration without looking washed out or unappetizing.
